About The Calgary Jewish Academy (CJA):

The Calgary Jewish Academy (CJA) has a proud legacy of over a century in shaping students who contribute to the future of Calgary, Canada, and beyond. Established in 1987 through the merger of the Calgary Hebrew School (1912) and the I.L. Peretz School (1927), CJA serves students from Nursery to Grade 9 in a safe, supportive, and challenging environment. The school fosters Jewish identity and community while delivering a rigorous dual curriculum that integrates the Alberta Curriculum with Judaic Studies.

Position Overview:

The Calgary Jewish Academy is looking to a highly motivated and qualified individual to teach at the elementary level-Alberta Curriculum, as well as additional courses as required for the upcoming school year (2025 – 2026).

Consideration will be given to those individuals who:

· Have experience with elementary level Language Arts, Social Studies, Math & Science at several grade levels

· Have experience with EAL and Special Needs students

· Having a Judaic background would be beneficial but not necessary

· Provide high standards of academics

Qualifications and Experience:

· Have a Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate – Interim or Permanent

· Have a Bachelor of Education Degree or experience and equivalent recognized by Alberta Education

· Teach according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students (ie. differentiated instruction)

· Be adaptable and flexible in a supportive learning environment

· Be committed to working as a team member in a collaborative setting

· Have strong communication and classroom management skills

· Be committed to professional development and the vision and mission of the CJA

JOB TYPE

· Full and part time positions will be considered

· Fixed term contract
