Student Achievement STEM Coordinator Location Hamilton, ON :

Job Summary:

The Student Achievement STEM Coordinator is responsible for leading our STEM-focused activities, clubs, and contests, as well as acting as a teacher's assistant when needed in science classes. The Student Achievement STEM Coordinator will co-facilitate the High Achievers club group and support high achievers by organizing STEM events for their supplemental applications and creating a program of support. They are also responsible for enriching afterschool STEM clubs (such as science club), contents, and extracurricular activities to support student achievement. Additionally, they will plan additional activities including, but not limited to, science fairs, science-based contests, a STEM speaker series, and career planning workshops. The Student Achievement STEM Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating partner school exchanges in STEM and offering summer programming. If necessary, they may also teach in STEM.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Co- facilitate High Achievers Club STEM focus
• Research, facilitate and support students with science contests including but not limited to science fairs
• High Achievers co-facilitation for Meetings
• Plan STEM speaker series for High achievers
• Student Leadership Development Support with extracurricular clubs and activities
• Enrich after-school clubs and activities (Speaker Series, Career Planning, science contests and science club,)
• Develop non-credited academic coursework; including but not limited to STEM classes
• Deliver non-credited academic coursework virtually to our Partner Schools when needed STEM focus
• Coordinate STEM programming during immersive exchanges
• Assist with all STEM extracurricular programming for the English Learning Summer Camp
• Assist teacher(s) in science classes when needed
• Duties as assigned by the Principal

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary University degree (STEM) is an asset.
• Experience with Microsoft suite of programs, including Excel - Intermediate experience required including database development and management, pivot tables, mail merges, etc.

Hours of Work:

• Must be availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends.
