Job Description

We’re seeking a Sprinkler Technician in our Ottawa branch, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, installing, and repairing sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps, backflow preventers, and fire hydrants in accordance with local and national fire codes. You’ll collaborate closely with Service Coordinators.

Reporting to : Sprinkler Supervisor & Sprinkler Department Manager

Responsibilities:

• Perform service orders for inspections, installations, repairs, and product sales promptly.
• Communicate any unexpected changes in work order schedules to Service Coordinators or the Sprinkler Supervisor.
• Thoroughly test and ensure equipment functionality before leaving the shop or customer location.
• Provide daily feedback on service orders and inspections to Service Coordinators.
• Submit completed paperwork accurately and promptly for proper customer billing.
• Document deficiencies and propose repairs to Service Coordinators.

Qualifications:

• UA Local 853 Member in good standing
• Possess a “Red Seal” certification.
• Familiarity with local and national fire codes.
• Willingness to engage in Union-sponsored training and stay informed about industry changes.
• 3 to 5 years of direct industry experience.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Flexibility and adaptability to schedule changes.
• Effective problem-solving skills and good judgment.
• Strong organization and time management abilities.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

In accordance with the union agreement looking for a journey person and there wage effective in May 2024 is in accordance with a collective agreement
