Role: Senior Business System Analyst

Type: Full-time

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/week)

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Business System Analyst with deep expertise in Capital Markets reference data, especially securities master and instrument data. The role involves platform assessment, integration design, stakeholder collaboration, and data governance for tools like GoldenSource.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Assessment & Roadmap

• Review and assess GoldenSource (or similar) upgrades and patches.
• Recommend enhancements based on ROI and technical feasibility.
• Maintain long-term platform roadmap.

Requirements & Analysis

• Gather functional/non-functional requirements with stakeholders.
• Document user stories and technical specs for data model, workflows, and automation needs.

Technical Design & Integration

• Design integrations with data sources (Bloomberg, Refinitiv), downstream systems, and ETL layers.
• Configure mappings, business rules, and ensure performant B2B data delivery (APIs, feeds, queues).

Testing & Support

• Lead test planning (unit, integration, UAT).
• Oversee cutovers, production support, and root-cause analysis for issues.

Data Governance & Quality

• Define and enforce data governance policies and KPIs.
• Collaborate on SLAs, exception workflows, and reconciliations.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Prepare impact assessments and status reports.
• Deliver training and maintain user documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Finance, Computer Science, Info Systems, or equivalent.
• 8+ years in Capital Markets reference data (securities master, identifiers, corporate actions).
• Hands-on experience with GoldenSource or similar (Alveo, SunGard MDM).
• Strong SQL and data modeling; familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica, MuleSoft), APIs, and CI/CD.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of B2B data protocols (SFTP, FIX, MQ).
• Scripting (Python, Shell) and experience with cloud (AWS, Azure) and Kubernetes.
• GoldenSource, CBIP, or CDMP certifications.
